26 Jun, 2008 11:58 AM
The Oberon JELD-WEN Hexion Tigers dampened Blackheath’s spirit with a huge defeat on Sunday at Blackheath.

The Tigers had a number of unforced errors in the first half, finishing the half ahead on 18-4.

The Tigers settled down over the break, and came back to flatten the Blackheath’s defence, with both Shaun O’Neill and Herb O’Bernier with a bag full of tries each. The final score was 64-4. Best and Fairest points were awarded, with Luke Christie-Johnston with three points, Evan Roberts with two and Shaun O’Neill with one point.

This game ended the first round of the season, and the points stand as follows: Oberon undefeated on 14 points, Kandos on 11 points, Portland on 10 points, Gulgong on 7, Wallerawang and Lithgow on 5 and Blackheath in last place with 2 points.

This coming Saturday, the Oberon Tigers will take on Portland at Oberon, starting at 2:30pm. The Oberon Tigers are expecting a tough game, but are hoping to keep their undefeated status. Please come and support our undefeated Oberon team on Saturday.
