With the rugby league season fast approaching Oberon Junior Rugby League will be holding it’s registration day on Sunday, February 28 at 11am.
We are asking all interested players and parents to attend for a sign up sausage sizzle.
There will also be some mini rugby league activities on the day. Juniors play rugby league for the pleasure of the game and the mateship the team sport provides.
Mini and mod league are great ways to learn the fundamentals of the game. Both mini and mod league allow children to gain skills in a safe environment as they are played under the national safe play code and national code of conduct.
These codes were developed to emphasise safety and good conduct in the game of rugby league. We are looking for players from the under 6s through to under 16s to attend. Players will receive an Oberon Tigers bag, socks and shorts as part of their registration.
Mini league is a non-competitive game and is run between Bathurst and Oberon for ages 6 through to 9s.
The games are mainly played in Oberon and Bathurst on alternate weeks with a number of non competitive carnivals played throughout the season where they get to play teams from Lithgow, Blayney, and Orange.
All mini games are played in good spirit with the coachs on the field at all times.
Last season’s mini non-competitive comp was very successful and we would like to see it grow in the 2010 season.
Oberon Junior Rugby League fees are some of the cheapest in NSW and it is terrific value for money for kids to learn and play rugby league.
Fees are $40 for a mini player and $65 for a mod player and family discounts apply for more than one child in junior league or two or more in mini $65 or mod $100 or one in both mini and mod at $80.
Come play rugby league - the greatest game of all.
