A father and son combination shared the limelight when the Tigers clashed with Blackheath in cool conditions on Saturday.
Robert Hayden and his father, Luke, didn't let their supporters down with strong performances, and Robert was among the try-scorers.
Both sides started strongly and with the Tigers backing up well Dallas Booth put the first points on the board. The conversion attempt by Shaun O'Neil was successful.
Jack Fitzpatrick ran hard and made good metres each time he got the ball.
He was well supported by Luke Christie Johnston, Johnny McGrath, Cheyne Barker and Evan Roberts.
Blackheath then came back with a try but Robert Hayden was determined to keep the Tigers score in front.
With half-time looming he scored his try and the half-time score was 12-10.
In the second half the Tigers defence proved too strong for Blackheath with the Tigers only letting them in for one more try.
The crowd witnessed some strong running from Shaun O'Neil, Trevor Long, Leighton Roberts and Shane Christie Johnston.
Tyler Hughes had a all round good game.
Final score Oberon 24, Blackheath 14. Jack Fitzpat-rick continued to show great form and took the players’ player award.
