There will be trial games against Macquarie United for Men's and Ladies in Oberon this Sunday. The men will kick off at . 9.30 am followed by the ladies at 11.30am. The competition is fast approaching, so please come down and complete your paperwork.
The trial season started last weekend, the United challenge, and Oberon travelled to Bathurst to defend the title they won last year. The Oberon United fourth grade men team played a great game. Down 3-2 a three quarter time, and only having 10 players due to work commitments, the senior members decided it was time to lift. At the same time Bec Corby put on a shirt and lent a hand. The team came away with a 4-3 win, and a good start to the season.
The ladies’ team was a mix of both grades, and it was a hard battle in the early part of the game.
The ladies finished with a 2-0 victory, and showed a lot of promise for the coming season.
Men's training is held Friday nights at 6.30pm. Some players have said they wish to play, so come down and sign up. It will be a good season with some good new players already signed up, the expectations are already very positive for the season.
