United Club still needs some soccer helpers

21 Jan, 2010 08:15 AM
MORE volunteers came forward at a meeting last Friday night to ensure another year of soccer will go ahead in Oberon but more people are needed to fill a few vacant positions.

Remaining vacant positions include: senior vice-president, junior vice president, senior registrar and canteen manage.

The committee welcomes Sonja Pointon as secretary and Peter Whalan as junior registrar.

The Soccer Club’s next meeting will be held on Friday, January 29 from 7pm at the Royal Hotel.

The club will be considering all nominations for coaches - these can be delivered to the committee at this meeting.

On the agenda for the next meeting are registration dates and a gala day.

The gala day will be a day of skills, lapathon and maybe a cream pie throwing contest for the kids.

The season is scheduled to start April 10/11. This is still to be confirmed by the Mitchell association.

Senior players: It’s time to get the boots out and dust them off, as pre season training will start soon.

Training dates will be published in the Oberon Review in coming weeks.

Everybody is invited to attend the next meeting.

Please join us on the night and have some input.
