Local soccer star 14-year-old Boeh Stockdale has returned from his whirlwind visit to China after attending a successful 12-day Youth Football Tour.
Boeh was the goalie for the NSW Development Team which travelled to China to play against teams from areas such as Shanghai and Beijing.
He also used the opportunity to see some great sights, such as the Great Wall of China.
The China trip is just the first of a range of new soccer opportunities for Boeh.
He has also been selected to play in the Sydney team Schofield Scorpions as the Under 16 goal keeper in 2010. Boeh has also been identified as a potential state player for the Under 15 Country State Team, and will travel to Sydney early in the new year to try out for that team.
Boeh thanked those who have supported him, such as Richard Evans and Christine who organised his Chinese tour, and the Oberon community members who have supported him throughout his soccer career.
He encouraged other locals who are offered soccer opportunities such as the China tour to take them. “The tour was great - a real eye- opener,” he said.
