Shah Zaam shines

13 May, 2010 10:09 AM
THE latest Shazada marathon endurance riding race at St Albans, Wisemans Ferry, was won by a locally bred Arabian horse – Newbury Shah Zaam (aka as Magnetic).

The Shazada is a 400km race over gruelling countryside and is one of Australia's biggest rides, it is also contested by overseas riders.

Newbury Shah Zaam then backed up one month later in Victoria to win the Heavyweight division of another top of the range endurance race “The Tom Quilty”.

Newbury Shah Zaam was also shown as a youngster by his breeder John Robins of Newbury Park at the Bathurst Show among others and won the Champion colt in hand.
