Oberon continues pennants run

OBERON scored another convincing 5-1 win in the second round of the 2010 Men’s Bowls Pennant competition was played last Saturday afternoon at home. The final score in the match which was played at Oberon was 73-51 – a great effort by all. P. Finlay's team won 28-21, G. Braun's team won 29-6, D. Evans’ team suffering their first defeat in two years but went down fighting 24-16. Thanks to Tracy for running the bar and the lady bowlers for supplying afternoon tea.

The third pennant round will be played this Saturday at Wentworth Falls. All players to meet at club at 10.30am please. Teams are:

D. Evans (skip), M. O'Neill, B. Fitzpatrick and M. Duffy.

P. Finlay (skip) R. Gear, D. Webb & J. Whittaker.

G. Braun (skip), H. Braun, K. Kitt and K. Braun.

Reserves in no particular order – M. McKechnie, G. Andersson, G. Dalbusco, Helmut Braun and M. Ivers.

Round one of the club championship major singles are to be played on or before March 21. Play or forfeit rule applies unless you have a work commitment (one week grace) or are involved in district games. Players please arrange for markers. The first chook run was well patronised. Winners: T. Webb, P. McIntosh, B. McLaughlin ( a visitor from NZ) and D. Turner. The next chook run will be held on Sunday, Mrach 28 at the revised start time of 10.30am. Names in by 10am. please Friday night raffle duty - Mark Ivers.
