HELLO fisherpersons. Some good fish are being caught at the lake, including a lot of redfin.
Richard Gear hooked four at Kelly’s Bay a few weeks ago. Allan Wale, a newcomer to the town, caught two small trout and a redfin and Steve Barlow has also been landing redfin as well.
Peta Brennan and crew spent some time at Bateman’s Bay - some caught fish and others were too sick to scratch themselves.
I understand someone spent most of his time trying to catch a crab - apparently the crab had a mobile phone! Graham Whittaker and Mark Armstrong can tell you the story better than I can.
Peter Brennan also spent some time at Nambucca Heads. He did not catch many fish but one he hooked was a beauty - a 20 pound Sampson
Lindsay Redman, a local fisho from Sussex Inlet, phoned to say tailer and salmon are on the bite. He and his boys caught 20 fish over two kilograms in 20 minutes. A week later they caught their bag limit of big sea brim.
Lake Lyle and Chifley are fishing well: Dave Elwin spent a weekend with the boys at Wyangla with some mixed results with carp and yellowbelly being caught.
A few weekends ago the hand brake and I spent a couple of days at Lake Macquarie and yes, it rained and blew for two days. So far I’ve been there 10 times and it’s rained 13. The ducks up there get footrot and it’s so wet they walk on the road.
The club Christmas party is on Sunday, January 25.
The next club meeting will be held on January 29 from 6.30 pm.
