Oberon Netball Club will hold its final registration this Saturday, February 27 from 10am to noon in front of Mawhoods IGA.
Players still needed for teams across all grades, particularly girls aged 14 years and over.
Netball is a fun team sport – you don’t need to be super-fit to get involved and have fun. The club is only small and aims to field at least one team in each age group for juniors. There is FunNet (for those born 2003-2005) and Netta (born 2000 and later). Competition for the little ones is lots of fun with coaches able to join players on the court for extra help and explanation of basic rules.
Then there is Transition for girls who have played before but, then we step up to Junior Netball with the under 12s, then the under 14s. Then we have the under 16s. which is the last junior grade for players aged 15-16 years. The club is also able to put teams into different levels within the three junior netball age groups and depending on the number of teams in the Bathurst competition can enter as an A grade, B grade or sometimes a C grade team. This means teams are grouped together – competition is close and all teams have a good chance to come away with a win here and there.
For adults the competition is split into the following grades:
C Grade – high school /younger uni – semi-competitive grade.
B Res Grade – ladies/older Uni, social grade.
B Grade – ladies / older uni, semi-competitive grade.
A Res Grade – second highest competitive grade, all ages.
A Grade – highest competitive grade, all ages.
The club is urgently seeking more 15 and 16- year-old girls to complete the 16B team.
If you haven’t already signed up for under 16s please try and bring a friend on Saturday to join up. Don’t forget our family discount. There is also some flexibility with fees under special circumstances – please ask about possible options when you register.
