The RSL Club – On the Spot Signs Bowls Twilight Competition run in conjunction with daylight saving has concluded, with some close results in both divisions.
The competition, designed to attract new players and to promote the RSL Club’s new all-weather bowling green was played over 12 weeks. It attracted 52 players including men, women and juniors.
Players competed for the chance to win one of two sets of new Taylor Redline SR bowls. The prizes were split for players and novice divisions with the top six scores of each player used to decide the winners in each division.
Chris Cole (103 shots) recaptured his form of old with some high scores in the final rounds to snatch victory over Dietmar Sajowitz (97) and the consistent Gil Dalbusco (90) in the players division.
Bob Rickard, Col O’Mara, Robyn Williams and Martin Duffy battled it out in the keenly contested novice division with Col (79 shots) winning from Robyn (75) and Martin (74). Will this win prompt Col’s coach, Bob A Louie to increase his lesson fees?
Dietmar’s hard work organising this competition each week has been rewarded with two of the new players graduating to play in the RSL Bowling Club pennants team. Well done Dietmar!
