OBERON BWG under 11 hockey team came home with a 5-0 win when they played St Pats Blue in the division two major semi-final. The win means they will have a crack at the grand final in a fortnight.

All the girls played extremely well, dominating for most of the game. Goal scorers were Emma Oxley (2), Caitlin Reeves (2) and Danielle Fisher (1).

Halves Bailey, Sophie and Laura held the attack high. Our forward line of Danielle, Caitlin, Claudia, Kym, Elmo, Emily, and Steph were all ready to pounce with some shots on goal when the ball was fed though. Backs Olivia and Kaylee played with confidence, breaking down attacking play leaving our goal keeper Vanessa with very little to do. The point system for Oberon's First National Real Estate Players’ Player is now finished and the overall winner will be announced at our presentation.

Thanks to all parents for there commitment for ensuring girls are always at training and on time for games. Without you guys we wouldn't be able to field a team - a big thankyou from Brian and me. Good luck girls, you are worthy of a grand final. If you play like you did on the weekend the victory will be yours. A reminder - no training or game this week, and good luck to the under 13s and 15s who are both playing in finals this weekend.

THE Highland

Pine under 13 girls had a tough game in the major semis against Kelso on Saturday, going down 4-0.

Goalie Holly did some fantastic work in saving many attempts by the Kelso side. Well done Holly on another fantastic effort. Katie and Chloe did a fantastic job in the backs, working hard all game to keep Kelso out. Sarah, Tarah, Emma and Ivy held their positions well and never gave up.

Jessie, Meg, Beccy, Shannon and Elizer tried hard all game to get the ball through to the goal but just couldn’t get through the Kelso defence.

Well done to all the girls – we still have another chance to get to the grand final so good luck on Saturday girls. See you at training.

Under 15s

OBERON Trash-Pak Under 15s this week played the minor semi-final against St Pat’s. scoring a 3-1 win.

Two goals were scored by Sarah McCusker and one to Amy-Ann Newson.

It was a tough game and congratulations to all the girls for their determination to win.

Our goalie Kaitlin played very well, diving on the turf to save several goals.

In attack Oberon was unlucky not to have scored a few more goals. In defence the girls all helped and talked to each other, which stopped the opposition from scoring again. Coach Jaydem was proud of the girls effort and sportsmanship.

Shannon, Amy-Ann, Casey, Tanisha, Leah, Jessie, Claire, Sarah, Emily, Emma, Courtney and Kaitlin's next game will be to play to advance to the grand final.

Girls you can do it, keep helping each other with positive talk, passing and team work.

Due to the finals Players’ Player is not awarded. We would like to once again thank our sponsor Shell for its support.

Jaydem will see you all at training on Friday. Good luck for Saturday - all your supporters will be cheering for you.
