WEEKEND golf started on Friday, when 44 players contested an 18 hole four person ambrose for trophies donated by Mawhood’s Mitre 10 and Centrephone Services.
The winning team was Robert Hayden, Scott Rowlandson, Russell King and Linore Zamparini with 501/8 nett.
Runners-up were Adrian Poulten, John and Brett Crichton and Peter Dale with 50 3/8 nett. Third place went to Darrin and Cathy McFawn and Jason and Veronie Fisher with 53 ¼.
Nearest to the pin winners: On the 1st, the team of Bob Slattery, Eric Whalan, Hamish Anderson and Kevin McGrath; on the 7th Charlie, Sam, Peter Gascoigne and Doug Curry; on the 9th, Dennis O’Connell, Wayne Caldwell, Foute Siakisoni and John McKinnon; on the 17th, Zac Elwin, Colleen Saul, Vonda Voytilla and John Fitzpatrick
On Saturday the club played an 18 hole par for trophies donated by Bob Bearup with 40 players competing.
The A grade winner was Keith Cleton with plus three. The runner -up was Anthony McGrath with plus two.
In B grade the winner was Russell King with plus six and the runner -up was Kevin Plummer with plus four.
Nearest to the pin winners: On the 1st, Mike Carlin with 4.35m; on the 7th Kim Rawlings with 1.80m; on the 9th, Bob Bearup with 87cm; on the 17th Mick English with 1.06m.
Balls for ability went to Bob Slattery, Neil Whalan, Bob Bearup, Geoff Arrow and Ray Ross.
The Thursday golf winner was Scott Rowlandson with 30 points balls went to Alan Benson, Neville Kelly, Graham Hotham, Barry Stubbs, Jack Robinson, Jordan Sargent, Peter Dale and Roger Arrow.

On Monday the club played an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by the club with only 18 players only one grade. The winner was Steve Collins with 40 points. Runner-up was Kevin Plummer with 39 points.
Nearest to the pin winners: On the 1st Harold Lyme with 11.27m; on the 7th Tim Crichton with 2.42m; on the 9th Brett Crichton with 4.34mand on the 17th Dennis O’Connell with 8.40m.
The Monday 10 Club winner was Tim Crichton, second Brett Crichton.
Golf this week will be an 18 hole stroke and monthly medals and putting and the first round of the club championships. On Sunday it will be an 18 hole stroke for trophies donated by Eric Whalan and the second round of the club championships. The championships are sponsored by Dennis O’Connell. On April 17 it will be an 18 hole stroke for trophies donated by Mick English and the third round of the club championships. On the same day there will be an 18 hole stroke for trophies donated by Peter Ryan and the final round of the club championships. The final two rounds of the club championships are seeded rounds
