Golfers go pink to raise funds

OBERON women golfers held an enjoyable Canadian 2 Stroke on February 24 as a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Appeal.

Players turned up in pink outfits and looked very festive.

The winners were Elizabeth Mawhood and Marjorie Webb. Katie Graham and Elizabeth Pollock were second and Katie Graham and prospective member Belinda Massey third. Congratulations Belinda. Nearest the pin on the ninth was Joan Graham and Vonda Voytilla and on the 18th Margaret Grady and Stella McGrath.

The Macquarie Challenge will be held at the club on Tuesday, March 9 and Thursday, March 11. Ladies are asked to cater for this event. On Wednesday, March 10an 18 hole Stableford event will be held and on Wednesday, March 17 an 18 hole par event.

The first round of the Club Championships, will be [played on Friday, March 19 and on March 24 an 18 hole stroke event, second round of the Club Championships, the first 36 hole trophy donated by Katie Graham and the first round of the WGNSW Medal International Bowl. An 18 Hole Stroke event will be held on March 26 with an optional 18 hole Stableford and the third round of the Club Championships. On March 31 there will be an 18 hole stroke event, or an optional 18 hole stableford event, and the final round of the Club Championships, with the second round of the 36 hole trophy, donated by Country Belle, and the 72 hole Trophy donated by Kath Cunynghame. Don’t forget the Oberon Open is on Monday, April 19.
