English and Lang engage in tough tussle for top title

On Saturday 43 players completed in an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by Dick Foran.

The winner in A grade was Mick English with 39 points and the runner up was Barry Lang with 38 points.

In B grade the winner was Tom McKinnon with 43 points and the runner up was Harold Lyme with 40 points.

Nearest to the pin winners were included, on the first, Bob Bearup with 2-96mts, on the seventh it was Ashley Slattery with 1-16mts, Mike Carlin took the honours on the ninth with 3-95mts and on the 17th it was Graham Hotham with 2-35mts.

Balls for ability went to Bob Bearup, Neil Whalan, Bill Dawson, Dick O’Donnell and Joe Moio.

Peter Dale was Thursday’s winner with 28 points and balls went to Stan Droder, Robert Hayden, John Brien, Scott Rowlandson, Don Miller, Kyall Ryan, Wayne Sargent, Tom McKinnon and Steve Paterson.

The 100 Club winner was Kevin McGrathand runnerup was Brian Roberts.

The pennant side had a four and three win over Grose River at home on Sunday.

Golf this week will be an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by Linore Zamparini.

On the February 6 it will be an 18 hole stroke for trophies donated by the Rotary club and monthly medals and putting. Happy golfing to all!
