OBERON COUNCIL staff and members of the Oberon community put their putting and swinging to the test on Friday at the Oberon Council Local Government Golf Day.
Local business representatives, as well as visitors representing Auburn Council, Orange City Council and Cabonne Council, took to Oberon’s magnificent Golf Course for a day of socialising and a little golfing.
The fun, and at times hilarious, event was sponsored by Westrac, Rollers Australia, Macquarie Geotech, Bird Legal, Earth and Plant Hire, Civica and ACEAM Pty Ltd.
After much fun, the dream team consisting of Robert McGrath, Greg Coles, Cornelius Van Dyke, and Wayne Boyd took out first place. Second was claimed by Laurie Murphy, Dick O'Donnell, Hamish Anderson and Kevin McGrath. Orange City Council representatives showed their golfing prowess by claiming third place with a team consisting of Ron Coyte, Graham Bryant, Peter Stibbard and John Bailey.
There was a fantastic array of prizes and all players went into the draw for the major prizes.
