Dennis gets hole in one

AN 18-hole fourball multiplier stableford for trophies donated by Roger Arrow attracted 65 players on Saturday.

Highlight of the day was Dennis O’Connell’s hole in one on the first hole! Well done Dennis! The winning team was John and Tom McKinnon with 83 points. Runners-up were Barry Stubbs and Dick O’Donnell with 80 points.

The club also held an 18-hole individual stableford for trophies donated by Ian and Elizabeth Mackenzie. The A grade winner was Mike Carlin with 40 points on a countback from Neil Whalan also with 40 points. Neil took the runner-up trophy. In B grade the winner was Anthony Miller with 42 points on a countback from Dick O’Donnell also with 42 points. Dick took the runner-up trophy.

Nearest to the pin winners: On the 1st, Dennis O’Connell with hole in one; on the 7th, Dennis O’Connell with 1.30m; on the 9th, Dick O’Donnell with 3.90m and on the 17th Bill Dawson with 2.39m.

Balls for ability went to Scott Rowlandson, Greg Willis, Jackson Brien, Tim Crichton, Roger Arrow, Eric Whalan, Tom McKinnon, Zac Elwin, Neil Whalan, Anthony, Reg Cunynghame, Ray Ross, Blake Miller, Kurt Armstrong, Doug Collins, Ian Mackenzie, Harold Lyme, Laurie Murphy, John McKinnon, Bob Slattery, Dennis O’Connell, Don Miller, Anthony Miller, Darrin McFawn, Jackson Brien, Tim Crichton, Roger Arrow, Greg Willis and Scott Rowlandson.

The Thursday golf winner was Ralph Harrison with 31 points.

Balls went to Graham Hotham, Neville Kelly, Scott Rowlandson, Blake Miller, George Knight, Col Brett and Bob Bearup.

The Saturday raffle winner was Doug Collins.

Golf this week will be an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by Linore Zamparini.

On January 31 there will bean 18-hole stableford for trophies donated by Balaam and McGrath hard course challenge.

The pennants matches have started for the year.

The A reserve side played Leura at Leura and had a 5 and 2 loss. The Kortum shield side had the bye.

Don’t forget the club is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 4pm and the Friday chook is still open to anyone who wants to play.
