On Saturday Oberon Men’s Golf Club held an 18 hole fourball stableford for trophies donated by Laurie Murphy. There were 47 players on the course. The winners were Dennis O’Connell and Doug Collins with 49 points. Runners-up were Scott Rowlandson and Russell King with 48 points.
Golfers also played an 18 hole individual stableford for trophies donated by Harold Lyme. The A grade winner was Robert Hayden with 43 points. The runner-up was Mick English with 35 points on a countback. In B grade the winner was Russell King with 42 points the runner-up was Dennis O’Connell with 39 points.
Nearest to the pin winners: On the1st, Ian Mackenzie with 9.10m; on the 7th Dick O’Donnell with 3.10m; on the 9th Keith Cleton with 2.83m and on the17th Paul Behan with 5.87m. Balls for ability went to Neil Whalan, Harold Lyme, Dick O’Donnell, Terry Robinson, Doug Collins, Brian Balaam, Terry Robinson, Laurie Murphy, Greg Hotham, Marty Hotham, Robert Hayden, Brian Roberts, Harold Lyme, Hugh O’Neil, Neil Whalan Joe Moio, Mick English and Eric Whalan.
The Thursday golf winner was Alan Benson with 24 points. Balls went to Neville Kelly, Graham Hotham, Barry Stubbs and Wayne Sargent.
The 100 Club winner was Maree Arrow with Louise Carlin second.
Golf this week will be an 18 hole three person ambrose for trophies donated by Russell King.
On May 22 there will be an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by Bill Wilcox
