Course staff wins praise

10 Dec, 2009 09:00 AM
THE 51st Oberon Golf Club Open played over 18 holes last Sunday was won by Bathurst golfer Paul Bright.

Playing off a handicap of five, Bright shot a one over par round of 71. He finished two strokes ahead of the runner-up, Barry England, of Leura Golf Club.

Bright also won the Oberon Open last year after a play-off and a round of 73 . At the presentation he said it was a privilege to win two in a row.

Bright was very happy with his game and said the preparation of the course in these difficult weather conditions was excellent.

He thanked the green staff, the volunteers and all the people involved in running the popular Oberon Open Day.

Bright also took out the runner-up prize in the first hole nearest the pin shoot-out.

The shout winner was Oberon Club director, Robert Hayden.
