THE third round of the Oberon Women’s Golf Club Championship will be held tomorrow and the fourth and final round on Wednesday, March 31.
In concert with tomorrow’s round an 18 hole stroke event with an optional 18 hole stableford will be held. On March 31, as well as the final round, there will be an 18 hole stroke event, or an optional 18 hole Stableford, the second round of the 36 hole trophy – donated by Country Belle – and the 72-hole trophy donated by Kath Cunynghame.
A 18 hole par event with trophies by Bev Dale was played on March 17. The division one winner was Joan Graham with Marjorie Webb second and Glennie McGrath third on a countback from Robyn Slattery. Robyn Slattery was also nearest the pin on the 18th hole. Welcome back Robyn.
Division two was won by Elizabeth Mawhood (who is also happy she has broken her handicap again). Second was Yvonne Collins and third Joan Sullivan. Pat Rickard was nearest the pin on the ninth.
On March 19 an 18 hole stroke event was held with trophies donated by the Club. The division one winner was Glennie McGrath with Joan Graham second and Elizabeth Mackenzie third. Joan also won the putting. Division two winner was Helen Toohill with Elizabeth Pollock second on a countback from Marjorie Webb. Maree Arrow won the putting.
The first round of the Club Championships was also held on March 19. The provisional winners (with three more rounds to go) were: A Division – a tie for first between Katie Graham and Robyn Slattery with Lyn Harris third. B Division – Glennie McGrath first, Joan Graham second and Elizabeth Mackenzie third. C Grade – Helen Toohill first, Lyn Prowse second and Vonda Voytilla third.
April 7 will be is an 18 hole stroke, the Monthly Medal and the second round of the WGNSW Medal Goodwill Plate. April 14 will be an 18 hole Stableford event. April 19 will be is Oberon’s Open Day by Ray White Real Estate. Last year 55 golfers representing 11 clubs attended.
