OBERON women golfers were busy on March 24 with an 18 hole stroke event for club trophies, the second round of the club championships, the first 36 hole trophy by Katie Graham, the first round of the WGNSW Medal and the International Bowl.
The 36 hole net trophy winner was Glennie McGrath and the International Bowl was won by Joan Graham.
The Division One winner of the stroke event was Joan Graham with Katie Graham second and Glennie McGrath third. Glennie also won the putting.
Division Two was won by Helen Toohill with Colleen Saul second and Elizabeth Pollock third on a countback from Vonda Voytilla. The putting was also won by Helen on a countback from Marjorie Webb.
The Club Championship second round provisional winners are: A Division – First Katie Graham with Robyn Slattery second and Alma Hotham third. B Division – Glennie McGrath first, Joan Graham second and Elizabeth Mackenzie third (the same as in the first round).
In C Grade Helen Toohill was first, Lyn Prowse second and Vonda Voytilla third (the same as the first round).
The third round of the Club Championships was held on March 26 and provisional winners are: A Division – Robyn Slattery first and Stella McGrath second. B Division – First Glennie McGrath, second Joan Graham and third Elizabeth Macckenzie (same as the second round).
C Division – First Helen Toohill, Vonda Voytilla second and Lyn Prowse third.
There was also a stroke event on March 26. Division One was won by Robyn Slattery with Glennie McGrath second and Colleen Saul third. Second Division was won by Marjorie Webb, second was Helen Toohill and third was Elizabeth Pollock. The putting was won by Robyn Slattery in First Division and Marjorie Webb in Second Division on a countback from Helen Toohill.
April 7 will be an 18 hole Stroke event, the Monthly Medal and the second round of the WGNSW Medal Goodwill Plate. On Wednesday, April 14 there will be an 18 hole stableford event.
Don’t forget Monday, April, 19 is Oberon’s Open Day (entries close April 12) with trophies donated by Ray White Real Estate. It is hoped we will have a roll-up like last year when 55 golfers representing 11 clubs attended. The Monster Garage Sale will take place on Sunday, May 2 from 10am at Oberon Golf Club.
