Benson and Wilcox win fourball stableford

On Saturday golfers played an 18 hole fourball stableford for trophies donated by Laurie Murphy. With 50 players the winning pair were Alan Benson and William Wilcox with 45 points on a count-back from the runners up who were Graham Hotham and Dick Foran also with 45 points on a count-back.

We also played an individual stableford for trophies donated by Harold Lyme. The winner in ‘A’ grade was Mick English with 42 points the runner up was Dennis O’Connell with 36 points. In ‘B’ grade the winner was Kevin McGrath with 37 points the runner up was Doug Collins with 35 points.

Nearest to the pin winners were on the 1st it was Neville Kelly with 2-60mts on the 2nd it was Bob Slattery with 1-16mts on the 10th it was Reg Cunynghame with 60cm and on the 12th it was Neil Whalan with 4-20mts.

Balls for ability went to Reg Cunynghame, Wayne Ortlipp, Doug Collins, Dennis O’Connell, Jack Whittaker, Mick McKechnie, Doug Curry, Anthony McGrath, Neil Whalan, Mick English, Eric Whalan, Graham Hotham, Reg Cunynghame and Alan Benson.

Thursdays golf winner was Neville Kelly with 32 points. Balls went to Barry Stubbs, Narayan Rodwell, Scott Rowlandson, Bob Rickard and Ralph Harrison. Saturday raffle 1st Louise Carlin 2nd Bob Slattery.

Golf this week will be an 18 hole three person ambrose for trophies donated by Russell King and on the 24/5/08 it will be an 18 hole stableford for trophies donated by Bill Wilcox.

Don’t forget the dinner at the club on Friday the 30/5/08 bookings at the club which is now open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon’s from 4-00 to 7-00. Happy golfing to all.
