THE senior Oberon soccer teams played Macquarie United in the United Challenge at Bathurst last weekend.
There was a good roll-up of players for the men’s game and some great goals were scored.
Club spirit is high. Mixing the third and fourth grade men’s sides on the day showed that support for both sides will be strong this season.
New players Bruce, Kyle, and Graham were also welcomed.
Player numbers were down for the women’s match but the Oberon team showed their spirit and played a great game.
The skills displayed by the Oberon women indicate they will have another good year.
Oberon will host matches with Churches United at the recreation ground this Sunday.
The women’s mixed game will begin at 10am, followed by the men’s mixed game at midday.
The day will provide a great opportunity for all players to return registration forms and finalise registration payments.
Training for the third grade men and women sides is on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm, and the fourth grade men train Friday evenings from 6.30pm.
There are still vacancies in the fourth grade men’s team. Anyone wishing to play should turn up on Friday evening and contact Ron Carley.
