Oberon United third grade ladies played Bathurst ’75 Blue. It was another freezing cold day for a game of soccer on Sunday, although Oberon United were pretty anxious to get out on the field and have a game of soccer as there has been a couple of weeks with no game.
Every player on the field played well, never giving up even when they were getting a little tired as we did not have any subs.
Erin, Renee, Laura and Sheena put a lot of pressure on the ’75 goalie, having a lot of shots at goal and a lot of good attacking runs.
Laura must have had five shots at goal with two hitting the cross bar and the others only just missing at the sides, showing that she was in the right position everytime. Bad luck Laura – they were so close. Next time you will get one in.
Renee played her normal awesome game taking the players on and beating them each time to score four times. She could have got a couple more, but she passed it to somebody else, showing she’s a good team player.
Our mids Karen, Teagan and Jane put a lot of good balls through to the forwards and also defended when necessary doing a great job.
Our backs Leanne, Vicki and Sarah are always in the right positions showing great soccer skills, beating the opposition to the ball, getting it back up the field every time.
Cannot forget Joy, our goalie, she had a great game in goals only letting one goal in which she did stop but dropped then crawled along the ground to get it but Bathurst ’75 came and kicked it in before she could get to it, almost.
The score for the day was Oberon United 4 to Bathurst ’75 1.
Thanks to our coach Mark and to our supporters. See you at training.
