The Annual Oberon Night at Bathurst Paceway meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 18, and will feature the 11th running of the prestigious $10,000 Oberon Cup.
There will be many family attractions, including a jumping castle, face-painting, Mr Whippy, and Pat O’Donnell will be performing between races.
The racing is sure to be exciting, with a lady drivers race to feature on the program.
There will also be a novelty race involving a man, a horse and a pushbike rider which should provide an exciting finish.
Last year’s race between the man and the horse was a real thriller and one of the best features of the night.
Another new feature has been added to the Oberon Night Program – the Princess Of The Paceway promotion.
This competition is open to single ladies from the age of 15 who reside in the Oberon Council district. The competition carries great prizes and the winner will gain automatic entry into the Miss Gold Crown competition in March. Entry forms can be collected from Rosedale Gifts.
The Oberon community always uses this opportunity to fundraise for a specific charity. The charity chosen for this meeting is Oberon branch of Can Assist. Money will be raised through a raffle and an auction held on the night. There will also be race book competitions and the Pick Six Draw will be available.
A trackside function will be held for sponsors of the night and also members of the public. There will be a buffet dinner provided and lucky door prizes. The cost is $33 a head. To book a seat at the function, please call Bathurst Harness Racing Club on 6333 5000 (seating is limited).
Be part of the excitement and join the fun on Oberon Night, Wednesday, January 18, at the Bathurst Paceway.
