26 Feb, 2009 09:14 AM
RECORD numbers turned out for the Oberon Show on the weekend, ensuring a successful event.

Oberon Show Society President Beryl Gibbons said the show featured the largest sideshow alley in years and increased entries in the prime lamb and bird sections.

She said the poultry section was also well supported and the lamb and cattle entries were excellent.

More than 380 dog entries were received - a record number for the show.

Other highlights included the fireworks on Saturday night, the mechanical bull riding and the ute muster.

Ashleigh Gilmour won the Oberon Showgirl competition and Kylie Barker was runner up.

Ms Gibbons said the show society was delighted with the support from local businesses which ensured the show success.
