The famous Jesus – All About Life racing ute got more bumps and bruises at Oberon High School this week than on the race track with the hordes of students clambering in keen to get V8 super car driver Andrew Fisher's autograph.
Oberon High School students were given a memorable lesson in courage by V8 Super car driver Andrew Fisher when he paid a visit to the school on Monday.
Andrew, fresh from racing in the Bathurst 12 Hour, and his representative Steve Peach arrived in the renowned Jesus – All About Life V8 racing ute to make a presentation to the excited students.
Andrew took the students through the thrills and spills of racing with descriptions of the physicality of the sport and a fast-paced video of some of his races, which had the crowd oohing and aahing.
Looking back, most students will first remember his very moving speech about making courageous decisions instead of impulse decisions, where he related a very inspiring story about the crisis his family faced when their daughter was born with a very serious heart condition.
It is rare to have silence with a stadium filled with high school students at home time, but Andrew's bravely told story had an amazing affect on the students.
Students risked missing school buses after the presentation to get autographs signed and to drool over the shiny V8 ute that had raced many famous race tracks.
