Local Oberon women aged between 18 and 25 years are encouraged to enter the Showgirl competition and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that are opened up to the winning

showgirl.

Local women that are passionate about Oberon and wish to promote our wonderful town are urged to enter the competition before the great Oberon Show in February.

The 2009 Oberon Showgirl will be announced at a Cocktail Party at the Oberon Golf Club on Friday the 13th of February 2009, after being judged by a panel of three judges on Monday the 9th of February.

Entrants are judged on their community involvement, presentation, speech, ambitions, achievements, and local and general knowledge.

The winning Oberon Showgirl is awarded with a number of prizes, including a cash prize, a hamper of cosmetic goodies, and an all expenses paid weekend of personal development and training at Dubbo.

The Oberon Showgirl also opens the Oberon Show, and awards prizes, and best of all, is able to become better acquainted with the Oberon people and character at

the show.

Coordinator Karen Bailey said that the Showgirl competition is a wonderful community event, and that it is a very positive thing for both the Showgirl and the town.
