Oberon ambulance comes clean

15 Jul, 2010 10:38 AM
The Oberon Ambulance will be cleaner than ever as it travels the local area saving peoples' lives, due to the giant new rain water tank which has been installed at the station.

The large 22,000 litre tank was donated by a number of generous local service clubs and businesses to ensure a constant supply of water for the station to clean ambulance service vehicles.

Station Officer Ian Grimes said there is an expectation of the ambulance service to present to its client a high degree of professionalism and appearance.

“The first impression of the ambulance and its crew sets the bench mark for our ability and trust,” he said.

Station Officer Grimes said that the low level of the dam was a factor in obtaining the tank.

“With dam levels declining and water becoming a commodity that must not be wasted on the cleaning of ambulance vehicles and equipment, this tank has been a godsend in allowing the staff to maintain the status quo,” he said.

“We, the staff, would like to thank the generosity of APEX, IGA, Mitre 10, B and G Haulage and Oberon Council for their time and various donations in providing the much needed water tank.”

The use of the water tank water has been extended to the Oberon Area Health Services in maintaining the outside appearances of the vehicles belonging to the Community Nurses, Patient Transport and Community Bus.

In addition, Oberon Ambulance Station would like the remind the people of Oberon, in the event of a medical emergency, dial Triple-0 and ask for an Ambulance.

Do not drive yourself or the patient to hospital as you may endanger your life, the patients life or members of the public.

The Oberon Ambulance staff prides itself on the professional services it provides to the community of Oberon and surrounding areas and encourages the young and old do a First Aid Course.
