New green work going well

23 Oct, 2008 10:07 AM
WORK ON Oberon RSL Bowling Club’s new synthetic bowling green is well underway. Oberon Council general manager Bruce Fitzpatrick and his staff are to be congratulated on their work in helping to gain a government grant for the project.

Nominations are being accepted for all the club championships. Nominations will close Saturday, November 1. Place names on the noticeboard.

The club annual triples tournament will move back to Oberon after two years of being played in Lithgow. The last weekend of November has been allocated for the tournament.

The twilight competition will also be commencing soon, along with social weekend and week-day bowls.

Bowlers must be members of both the mother club and RNSWBA to compete in club championships. Bowler membership fees are now due.

On a sad note – members’ thoughts at this time go out to Nancy Brown and family on the sad passing of your loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and son, Alan Brown. Our thoughts are with you.
