Markets thriving in cooler months

25 Jun, 2009 10:23 AM
THE decision to continue the Oberon Tablelands Way Farmers markets over the winter months has proved to be the right one with a very successful market held on June 4.

Over 20 stallholders attended, some setting up in the warmth of St Barnabas Hall, while others relocated closer to the church.

A large crowd of locals and visitors enjoyed the home-made soup and lamb sausages served by Rotary along with hot, delicious coffee from Fish River Roasters.

The variety of products on offer continues to grow, with everything from goat meat products, sourdough bread and bagels, fruit pies, cakes and biscuits, jams, jellies and marmalades, beading, bags, alpaca products,

Wines and olive oils, fruits and vegetables in season, and even chickens and ducks can be purchased from the farmer who grew them or the cook who created them.

A wide selection of craft items including patchwork and quilting, pottery and ceramics are available from talented artisans.

You can even buy a tree!
