THE Oberon and Villages Summer Festival begins this weekend with a fantastic program of events and attractions planned over the next two weeks.
The festival, which is supported by Oberon Council, The Tablelands Way, and Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon Tourism, is a chance for visitors to rediscover
simple pleasures, sharing the lifestyle, history, culture, produce, secrets, stories and hospitality of the Oberon Circle of Villages.
Oberon Council’s tourism development officer Jennifer Youman is thrilled to see the festival opening for 2012.
“The festival is jam-packed with lots of great events and activities showcasing the best of our local area. With the Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair this weekend, music concerts at Jenolan Caves and the
Oberon Agricultural Show, there is something for everyone, whether you are a local resident or a visitor from overseas or interstate,” she said.
Opera in the Caves, presented by The Underground Opera Company, will captivate visitors at Jenolan Caves on Friday and Saturday, February 17-18 and the
Oberon Agricultural Show will showcase many new features, along with old favourites such as rides, fireworks, yard dog trials, animal nursery and nightly
entertainment. The show is on Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19.
