THE Oberon Pool Complex is currently seeking expressions of interest and enrolments for a Junior Life Guard/Bronze Medallion Course to be run in March 2012.
The Bronze Medallion program provides each individual with the skills and knowledge to react appropriately in a number of different water situations, training in aquatic safety, rescue and survival skills techniques. It is also a personal achievement award that shows you are capable of being able to perform aquatic rescues in a safe and efficient manner. The bronze award is the first step towards being able to complete the Pool Lifeguard course and also the first step towards possible employment within the aquatic industry.The course is made up of several components including theory, a timed swim, a tow, CPR, survival and rescue skills, spinal injuries and rescue initiative; all simulated around possible scenarios, which could occur within an aquatic environment will be conducted. Swim Squad sessions have returned to the normal time of 3:30pm Mondays and Wednesdays and 4:30pm on Fridays.
A reminder that Dolphin Swim School lesson/program fees are to be paid for at the time of enrolment. In the event of an Instructor cancelling swim classes, thunderstorms or inclement weather, you will be notified of the cancellation and your booking rescheduled. If the participant misses a scheduled lesson/program for no reason or without sufficient evidence, such as a medical certificate, no refund or makeup lesson will be made.
