THE Oberon and Villages Summer Festivals will conclude its six wonderful weeks of celebrations with the official opening of The Tablelands Way experience on March 28.
Nestled above the magnificent Abercrombie Gorge, the historic property of Tanjenong on the Taralga Road will host this wonderful event surrounded by sweeping bushland and breath-taking rugged landscapes.
The Tablelands Way experience stretches from Canberra to the Hunter taking in some of the most beautiful natural and historic landscape in the State.
The event begins at 10am and will feature a number of activities to celebrate the wonderful area.
The Tablelands Way official opening will provide an ideal opportunity to experience the nature of the area.
There are two kinds of bushwalks to experience at the opening - a relaxed, easy walk along the ridge to take in the spectacular views and a more challenging walk which will take walkers right down to the gorgeous Abercrombie River.
Come and hear the unique and wonderful tales of colourful locals while taking in the gorgeous views.
For the adventurous, there will a giant slide, cha cha and a jumping castle, and to fully experience the rugged beauty of the area, climb aboard a helicopter and enjoy the fabulous panoramic views.
The bounty of the locations along The Tablelands Way will be showcased at the opening.
There will be farmers markets and an expo featuring wool, olives and lavender, and also a snapshot of the wonderful events, accommodation and and tourist attractions along the way.
Hear the roar of a fleet of motorbikes as The Tablelands Way attempts to set a record for the largest number of bikes on this wonderful scenic drive.
