Help make our bakehouse the best

24 Jun, 2010 10:00 AM
If you have sampled a Bee Sting from Oberon Bakehouse, you will never forget the experience.

Nothing beats a great Oberon Bakehouse pie or delicious pastry and it is going up against hundreds of bakeries from across the country in a bid to be named Australia’s Best Bakery 2010.

Kly Yee of Oberon Bakehouse is seeking the support from the Oberon community to help take out this coveted title.

He said Oberon Bakehouse has already attracted high praise from locals and it is now time to take on the national competition. “We know our products are up there with the best in the country, no doubt about that,” Kly said.

“Now we just need our local community to get behind us and cast their votes so we can prove it to the rest of Australia.”

“We’re asking all locals who love our product and service to go the extra mile and jump online to vote for us in Australia’s Best Bakery Competition. We need your help to do Oberon proud.”

Kly invites locals to come to the bakery and sample some of their great breads, pies and pastries and see why Oberon Bakehouse should be named the nation’s Best Bakery.

Customers can vote for their favourite bakery online at http://www.australiasbestbakery.c om .au until July 31 2010.

Every voter receives free movie rentals valued at $13 and all voters go in the draw to win Australia’s best rail adventure aboard The Ghan.

Pilot National Marketing Manager Hayley Daniel said local bakeries and hot bread shops had become iconic parts of Australian culture and deserved to be recognised.

“Grabbing a pie or bread roll from the bakery has become part of the Aussie way of life and this competition aims to acknowledge the hard work of these bakers which often goes unrecognised,” she said.

“A competition like this is a great vehicle for local businesses to build their profile and be recognised for their fantastic food and customer service.

“We’re really hoping the Oberon community will rally behind Oberon Bakehouse to help them take the title.

“We want to make the competition a huge annual event and we need the support of local communities, getting behind their favourite bakeries, to ensure the competition continues into the future.”

The bakery which receives the most overall consumer votes will win over $16,000 in prizes including Australia’s best rail adventure for two aboard The Ghan, $5,000 cash and a public relations package valued at $2,500, as well as the prestigious title of Australia’s best bakery.

Registrations and public voting close Saturday July, 31.
