Hectic schedule for young citizen

26 Jan, 2012 03:13 PM
Bec Armstrong, daughter of Brenda and David, has been selected as Oberon’s Young Citizen of the Year.

Bec attended St Joseph’s Central School until Year 10 and completed her Higher School Certificate at MacKillop College in Bathurst.

Bec now has a full schedule. She is in her third year of a Transition to Work program in Bathurst. This position involves working with Uniting Care, Bathurst Bargain Centre and Hathaway Aged Care in Oberon. In 2011 Bec also worked at Oberon Hospital on Fridays.

Thursdays are busy as well with her volunteering at Oberon Day Care Centre.

In 2012 Bec has also taken on a TAFE course in Hospitality in Bathurst, which will keep her busy Mondays and Tuesdays.

Bec’s hobbies are reading and listening to music. Her weekends are busy looking after her two beagles, Charlie and Bov.

Bec is deserving of this award as she is a very caring and helpful person in all her roles in her very busy life.
