Grant gives Hightop FM a much-needed boost

10 Dec, 2009 08:55 AM
HIGHTOP FM is already sharing the Christmas spirit with the news of an early present - the station has gained a grant to help with the purchase of equipment.

While this is a step in the right direction there is still a long way to go in meeting the target figures.

The committee has been working on the technical information required, a training program, promotional and fundraising events, policies and procedures and the licence application. Ongoing community support is still urgently needed.

The Hightop committee has put together an agenda of fundraising activities for 2010 that will see community involvement as well as raising the awareness of the Radio broadcasting service's ideals and intentions. Getting the station up and running is a very big task.

The community of Oberon needs to get behind the idea, financially and physically for Hightop to be a success.

The news of the grant came after Hightop FMs AGM. There were a few changes to the committee. David Stein walked forward into the president's position and Anne Russell moved into the vice-presidency. The new committee is already working well together.

Stay tuned for the events that Hightop have planned - if you would like to help support Hightop FM or get involved contact the secretary, Mikaela Piper on 63 358 276.
