Good crowd braved weather

03 Sep, 2009 10:03 AM
In true resilient country style, the 50th Burraga Sheep Show and Country Fair was not deterred by some typical nasty weather.

Despite truly freezing wind and rain, locals and visitors came to sample some country fairtime fun.

The sheep dogs still mustered, sheep were shorn and the utes still revved through the rain, fine local sheep were judged and the barbecue did a roaring trade.

Stalls shifted into the hall to avoid the weather, so the hall was bustling with displays of food, wine, plants, school kids’ masterpieces and many other goodies.

The show’s guests for 2009, renowned agriculturalist and academic, Professor John Chudleigh and Brian Beasley were interviewed on Hightop FM's static broadcast.

Stay tuned for next week’s paper for the announcement of the winners of the sheep show, the photography and writing competitions and all other events!
