Expo offers big opportunities for Oberon

Expo offers big opportunities for Oberon

02 Jul, 2009 11:12 AM
THIS years Country Week, sponsored by the Department of State and Regional Development, will be held at the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 9.

The Tree and Sea Change movement is an emerging and ever growing market where people and businesses are looking to relocate to country and regional areas. The Expo offers Oberon the opportunity to connect and talk to young professionals, trades people and their families who are seeking a better lifestyle, businesses looking to expand or relocate, or investors seeking information on business or real estate .

For the past five years thousands of people have visited the Country Week Expo at Rosehill thirsty for information about the benefits of moving to communities in regional areas. With an increasing number of people wanting to escape the high mortgages, long commuting times, and expensive real estate. Visitors to the expo are effectively able to “walk NSW” in a day.

Due to the success of the Jobs Board last year Country Week organisers have decided to keep the information board. The Jobs Board will showcase employment opportunities ranging from categories such as council, professions, trades, and hospitality.

The Jobs Board will be one of the first things visitors will see as they come into the Expo. Oberon businesses and the timber industry with job vacancies are urged to take advantage of this advertising by contacting: Michael Massey on 6329 8214 or email your vacancies to mmassey@oberon.nsw.gov.au. Oberon is well represented as a place of opportunity for young families and the first consideration is of course jobs.

Another fantastic opportunity will be to promote local products on the Oberon stand.

This will allow Oberon local produces the opportunity and exposure to promote locally grown and produced products such as: Olive Oil, Wine, Jams, Cheeses and Nuts. Interested parties can contact Michael Massey 6329 8214.

To successfully promote the Oberon district at the Expo volunteers interested in spending some of their time to showcase our wonderful region are needed. If we have any newcomers to Oberon who would like to talk about their tree change“experience we would also love to hear from you.

Even better join the team on the Oberon Stand at Country Week. Please contact Michael Massey on 6329 8214 for further details. The promotion of Oberon is made possible by Oberon Council and volunteers from the Oberon Plateau Tourism Association, Oberon Business Association and the community at large.
