AS part of its Champions Drink Responsibly campaign, Bacardi Limited has announced the winners of its Driving Experience of a Lifetime contest.
Jason Foley and friend Andrew Humphries of Oberon are two of 28 winners internationally who have won an all-inclusive trip to be in the passenger seat next to Michael Schumacher, the world’s most successful Formula One™ driver, and raise awareness of the critical message of responsible drinking.
Michael Schumacher, who is the Bacardi Limited Global Social Responsibility Ambassador, will treat the winners to a full-throttle ride around the legendary Ascari racetrack circuit in southern Spain, highlighting how champions stay in control through his expert handling of a high performance car.
“I am eager to spread this message that drinking and driving don’t mix. It is a topic I personally feel very strongly about,” said Schumacher, a seven-time Formula One™ world champion.
On May 13, Foley and Humphries travelled to southern Spain for the once in a lifetime driving experience at the Ascari race track that boasts corners designed to emulate legendary racing curves including Eau Rouge, Paddock Hill and the Karrousel.
“I’m thrilled to have won the Champions Drink Responsibly competition and am really looking forward to meeting Schumacher,” said Foley. “It’s a fantastic prize and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be in the passenger seat next to Schumacher on the legendary Ascari circuit.”
The all-inclusive prize also includes the opportunity for the winners to drive a high performance car with driving technique instruction and flights and accommodation to southern Spain. Bacardi Limited’s award-winning, global social responsibility campaign ‘Champions Drink Responsibly’ encourages drivers to be aware of options available to avoid drinking and driving such as using public transport, taking a taxi, designating a driver, or drinking non-alcoholic cocktails.
