Council GM calls it quits

08 Dec, 2011 04:00 AM
Oberon Council’s general manager Leanne Mash has resigned from council effective from the last week in January, 2012.

Ms Mash has only served with the Oberon Council for 15 months after being chosen from 31 applications for the position in 2010.

Ms Mash came to Oberon from Bourke Shire Council in far north Queensland where she was the chief executive officer.

Ms Mash said her reason for leaving are personal. Ms Mash and her family will be moving from Oberon to be closer to family.

Council will now go through the process of advertising for a new general manager.

The position will be advertised from this Saturday in Sydney newspapers, on-line and through local government directories.

Interviews for the position will be conducted as early as February 2012.
