Oberon’s Yule Fest Market will be wired for sound when Hightop FM makes its first static broadcast from the site on Saturday July 4.
Come and meet the Hightop crew, find out more about community radio and see it operating.
For those entering the “Why I love Living in Oberon” writing competition, winners will be announced on the day. Have your name and phone number on your entry, and your age if you are under 18. Competition entries and musicians’ recordings should reach Michael Massey at the Oberon Visitors’ Information Centre,
or be mailed to
Anne Russell, at 1303 Isabella Roads Isabella, 2795, by Monday June.
There will be a guessing competition with a hamper of goods donated by stallholders as the Prize — just another reason to join in.
It’s going to be a great community day and another first to
go down in Oberon’s history.
In news from Hightop FM, the application for a broadcasting licence is now in preparation and soon we’ll hear the station in our homes.
Our community broadcaster revolves around us and is reliant on our support, especially in this developmental stage.
If you become a member, some of
the benefits include voting rights, three
thirty-second personal announcements a year free, and access to training through the station. Members are also entitled to suggest program content.
Membership forms will be available at the market and are now
at the Visitors’ Information Centre. Annual fees are $25.00 full membership and
$10.00 for students and concession cardholders.
