After over a decade working in health care in Oberon, supervisor of Hathaway Cottages Debbie Young is moving on.

This week is Debbie's last week at her beloved Hathaway, where she has been supervisor since 2001 after working as an enrolled nurse at Oberon Hospital.

As of next week Debbie will be the new Cabonne Shire supervisor of community care for older people and people with disabilities, which includes day care, home care, home maintenance, food delivery and transport.

Debbie was instrumental is launching a branch of Can Assist in Oberon and her new role in Cabonne will include launching a branch of Can Assist in Canowindra.

Debbie said it will be a big job, but she is excited about the new challenge and the new climate in Canowindra, where she will be based.

Debbie said she will miss the residents and staff of Hathaway Cottages, and she thanked family, friends and the Oberon community.

“Everybody has been very supportive,” she said. Debbie also wishes to thank the Oberon community for its massive support of her grand daughter Dakota Francis during her battle with cancer.

Best of luck Debbie.
