Break-ins and car thefts down following arrests

POLICE say the number of district break-ins and car thefts have fallen following the arrest and charging of a group of youths from Lithgow.

The youths allegedly went on a crime spree involving break-ins and theft in November last year.

They were arrested as part of Operation Kable and are currently being monitored by police through restrictive bail conditions.

Oberon residents was terrorised in November last year by several home invasions.

Offenders entered houses while the residents were at home before stealing motor vehicles, wallets and other personal items.

Oberon police are continue to conduct proactive operations, including the use of unmarked vehicles, in an effort to reduce crime in the township.

Police urge members of the Oberon community to provide timely information in relation to any crime in the area.
