Ashleigh’s into the finals of Idol

03 Sep, 2009 10:07 AM
Local Joy Toole is proud of her granddaughter Ashleigh who has made the final 12 in national singing competition, Australian Idol.

Ashleigh was named in the Final 12 last week after giving a powerful rendition of a Christina Aguilera song.

She will now be performing each week on national television in an attempt to stay in the running to become the Australian Idol for 2009.

Ashleigh, 18, now lives in Kincumber NSW with her family, but her father Graham grew up in Oberon.

Ashleigh and her family have performed in Oberon during the Daffodil Festival in previous years, and also have performed at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Joy is very proud of her granddaughter and is excited to see Ashleigh perform weekly in front of the entire country.
