Aruna Wickramasinghe is Oberon Council’s new director of engineering.
Aruna has only been with the council for a couple of weeks and is busy familiarising himself with the town and district.
His responsibilities include roads, water and sewerage.
Aruna has over 12 years experience working for local government. For the past four years he was with SMEC Engineering Services in North Sydney who are responsible for road and construction works through the Blue Mountains.
Aruna is married and has two sons one aged 22 and the other 19, who still live in North Sydney.
Aruna is living in Oberon and most weekends he travels back to North Sydney to see his family.
