28 Aug 08 | FRIENDS of the Oberon Library (FOOLS) held a mini-Olympics, with teams competing in events including javelin throwing (straws), discus (paper plates) and a marathon run (around the library fence). The afternoon ended with Chinese whispers (and some creative invention) and a hearty tea of performance-enhancing pumpkin scones and thousand year old eggs (well, two weeks old at least, preserved by Lyndle Hawkes). Gold medals were eaten all round.
